Although Miike Snow’s music typically hovers in that tepid, adult-contemporary alt-music zone that the NPR set flip for (safe, rounded, family-friendly), occasionally they put together something that raises an eyebrow around here. The latest is a collaboration with fellow Swede Lykke Li called “Black Tin Box” (stream). The oily, smoldering track is a lot darker than what you’re expecting from Miike Snow, but something that is a natural outtake from Li’s latest, Wounded Rhythms. “Black Tin Box” is set to appear on Miike Snow’s sophomore LP, Happy to You (due March 26) along with the earlier leak, “Devil’s Work” (stream).
