Radar Blip: Mirel Wagner

Twenty-three year old Finnish songstress Mirel Wagner hit our radar this week with several disarming, deadpan and dour songs from her haunting, self-titled debut (out now on Bone Voyage records). Fans of Rio En Medio, Jose Gonzalez and Tiny Vipers will find a lot to cling to in Ethiopia-born Wagner’s spacious, wooded approach to overcast folk. We did.

About down.caster

Downcaster(s) is not a music critic, he's a music fan. So he usually doesn't talk about music from a "you should listen to this because it's moving art forward" perspective. He likes the "you should listen to it because it kicks ass" perspective.
